i had been doing really well on celebrity slim up until xmas 2011 and then after allowing myself afew treats ive really struggled to get back into it and have been eating things i shouldnt, has anyone got any tips or advice to remotivate myself?
Are you able to keep a cupboard to yourself just for your treats?......... In a house full of chocolate, cake and crisps for my 4 kids,......it can be tough for me at times.........
Chromium tablets help prevent sugar cravings, as well as the CS management tablets..............
How about when you stick to the diet and do well.........give urself a treat, like a meal out on the weigh in day (only if uve lost weight).......thats a great motivation for me.......im still pretty good at the restaurant, but sometimes allow myself a dessert
and remember.....NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD, AS SLIM FEELS!!
One thing that motivates me is window shopping for clothes I know will fit me again when I'm finished. I know it sounds silly, but I'm absolutely determined to have my wardrobe choices back! But here are a few good tips I've read and stashed away:Be Fair to Yourself:Imagine someone walks up a hundred steps but feels a bit tired, so they stop and step back down one step. They tell you bitterly: “Now I may as well forget this whole idea of reaching the top! I’ve totally blown it!”What?! You’d think that was crazy, right? Acting as if all that progress, the 99 steps they did climb, never happened – because they had one slip! But people do this all the time when it comes to weight loss. You lose weight, maybe four or five pounds, maybe much more. But you slip, have a bad day or a ‘weak moment’, and eat something you shouldn’t have. And what do you tell yourself? “I’ve completely blown it! Now I might as well really binge!”Beware the perfectionism trap. Aim to eat sensibly and healthily most of the time, not all the time. We all consume more than we should of the wrong kind of food or drink now and then.Everyone’s weight fluctuates a bit and you should prepare for this (once you’ve reached a healthy weight). Have a ‘sliding scale’ in your mind of a couple of pounds on either side of your target weight. No one can live for long under a self-imposed, too harsh dictatorship.Think Slim:This tip is about that all-important moment: What do you experience just before you eat something? Do you tussle with yourself? “I really shouldn’t… but I want to!” Do you imagine how the food will taste, even feel in the mouth? Or do you focus on the real consequences, rather than the temporary satisfactions of eating?People who are overweight tend to imagine how food is going to taste and feel as they eat. In contrast, people who naturally ‘eat slim’ tend to imagine how that pie or cake will feel heavy in their stomachs for so long after they’ve eaten it. Jumping from a great height might feel fun whilst it lasts, but the consequences that come after we hit the ground are what we consider when deciding not to do it.So when you’re tempted to eat something you don’t need, practice imagining how your stomach is going to feel ten minutes or an hour after you’ve consumed that weight-increasing food. Keep it up until this becomes a natural habit for you.Best of luck to you and I hope you find your motivation again soon
Good advise and so so true !
thanks for the advice, have a new pair of jeans i have my eye on and hubby has promised me a treat when i reach my next goal!!
That's really great hun - your hubby gets to enjoy your weight loss too so damn right he should treat you haha!
Hi everyone
I'm have totally fell of the wagon was doing really well and then all of a sudden I have gone back to old habits (crisps and chocolates the usual suspects). I can't bare another summer hiding away because I can't find anything to wear. I just can't understand why I can't do it and I'm gutted . I'm sorry don't mean to put a downer on everything.
i know this might not agree to everyone but i always have an off day when i loose a stone i allow myself to have one day where i can have what ever i fancy for dinner it keeps me motivated cause i have something to look forward to and i weigh myself on the wii fit with my partner and he always gives me a big hug when ive lost weight and encourages me if i havent. the last time i was on this diet i gave up due to post natal depression. this time im determined not to so if that means having a treat once a month i will =D

PinkPricess, the important thing is to get yourself back on the diet. Don't worry if you've had a floopy moment, just accept it's in the past and you need to move forward. I figure what you did in the past is something you can't change, but you are in complete control of what you do next. You are human hun. Living in a food dictatorship is impossible, so you have to allow yourself some flexibility or you are doomed to fail. Also remember, just because you've lost focus doesn't mean all the work you've done is void. If you read my earlier post above, you'll see it's the easiest thing in the world to say "all the progress I've made so far means nothing, because I slipped". Someone climbing a mountain wouldn't forget how far they'd come, for the sake of a slip. We all do it. We look how far we've got to go, instead of looking at how far we've come. I don't mean in "pounds" either, I mean in training yourself to get on with this diet. Get back on the programme hun, you can do it. You just need to remind yourself the reason you started doing this in the first place and hang on to it.
