So I have reached my 49th year and a good 50% of those have been spent on some diet or another! But this is the year to become fifty fit and fabulous! This is my 3rd week, the first week I lost 7lbs, followed by 1 lb the second week, but I have taken on a long term commitment so even a small loss is a loss.
I long to be slim, to be able to walk into clothes shops and not to have to look at the coloured tag on the hanger before I pick anything up because I know they will have it in my size.
I sit in the bath and slightly lift my legs out of the water, imagining what it will be like to only have half the legs I have now, ludicrous but pathetically true.
I have even got a pod cast from the NHS from couch to 5K in 8 weeks and have completed week 1 already.
Anyway I'm on my way, wish me luck and I will let you know how I get on
klnics
Hi klnics!!
Good luck with your loss and i agree, 1lb is still a loss what ever way you look at it. It all adds up! Usually the first week is a big loss and then it averages from 1-3lbs per week after that.
I think us women get a hard time over our weight and all our lives are spent on diets. But this one is brill and its the best thing i did! I actually missed my shakes at xmas and was glad when i got back on them. It's not only weight loss that good on this diet, it's a whole change in mindset. Making healthy options rather than point or calorie counting...!
Good luck and keep us updated!!
Just weighed in this morning and lost another 3 lbs
I am really enjoying not having to think too much about what I can eat and what I can't. Cutting down the choices has made it so much easier to keep on the straight and narrow. I hope I feel the same in 3 months time!
Good luck to you klnics, There is so much support on here and on the facebook page, it's exactly what people need.
With a similar story to you, I will be 40 at the end of next year and dont plan on being in this country for my birthday, my plan is to be on a beach in Cuba in a bikini! So this is the drive that keeps me going, Week 1 I lost 7 lbs, weighed in for week 2 this morning and lost another 3lbs, like you if it's just 1 lb a week it's coming off and that's all that matters with 4stone 4 lbs to go..I can do that, it's easily achievable if I stick to it.

Hi Longtobeslim
I have another 4 stone to go too, but this time I hope to really do it! The cuban beach sounds great. I tend to keep trying to picture what I will look like it really gives me motivation! Well done keep going!
Hi everyone
I lost 7lb my first week and now on my second week. I am 51 years old and fed up with been on a diet for most of my adult life. I have tried them all with some varied success. I am doing this for various reasons mostly cos of my healh (high blood pressure) due to my weight. I also have about 5 stone to lose. I need all the help i can get and this forum seems to offer the support i need plus apart from 1 day last week i have not felt hungry so that great as well.
Good look to everyone

just about to start nights tonight so hope i can manage to stay with it.

Another weigh in another pound lost! (well over a pound but I'm rounding to the nearest whole) It is still a loss. I am feeling a lot fitter I can now jog for three minutes without dying, although my jogging seems to be a lot slower than my walking actually but I don't care! I want to be able to run for 30 mins without any problems and I am getting there slowly!
Hope you are all doing well!
Well done to your weight loss every loss is good. I myself lost 1lb on my 2nd weigh in on monday so total 8lb so far. I also feel fitter but i cant stop weighing myself with deflating results (not lost any more weight since monday) i know i shouldnt weigh myself but cant help it. My clothes feel slacker on me so hopefully am losing inches. I work out on the treadmill and walk the dog a lot so this will help.
Keep up the good work and we will see how we do next week
